Moto E Update Lollipop Look CyanogenMod 11 Custom ROM (CM11)



Moto E is another great budget mobile phone from Motorola with the specifications higher than other smartphones of this range. The device has 1 GB RAM with 4.3 inch display and 5 MP camera. The device comes with the Android KitKat version on it but the user can still update it to Android 4.4.4 using the CM11 custom ROM. The specifications of this smartphone are enough to be able to run the Android 4.4.4 smoothly on it and using this trusted ROM and following some really easy steps you can upgrade its Android to 4.4.4. Here are the steps you need to follow to Update Moto E to CyanogenMod 11.



Follow the steps given below to Update Moto E to CyanogenMod 11
Prerequisite to Update Moto E to CyanogenMod 11
Make a backup of all your data including contacts, SMS, call logs and other mobile data.
Enable USB Debugging in the Developer’s Option of your mobile phone.


Install all the necessary softwares and drivers for Moto E on your PC.
Charge your phone up to 60% at least.
The bootloader must be unlocked on your device and the custom recovery installed on it.
Your Moto E must be rooted in order to update to CM11 Android 4.4.4 ROM.
Procedure to Update Moto E to CyanogenMod 11

Step 1: Get the Android 4.4.4 CM11 ROM for Moto E and the Google Apps and download it on your PC.
Get the Android 4.4.4 CM11 ROM from here.
Get the Google Apps package from here.

Step 2: Now connect your Moto E to the PC and transfer these files to your root SD card folder.

Step 3: Remove the device from PC and turn it off. You will need to reboot it into the bootloader mode now.


Step 4: Press and hold the Volume Up and Volume Down and the Power key until the mobile boots into the bootloader mode.

Step 5: Enter into the recovery option now and perform “wipe data/factory reset”, “wipe cache partition” and “wipe dalvik cache” also.







Step 6: Now go back to the main screen and select “install zip from SD card” and select the Android 4.4.4 zip file you copied earlier to your root SD folder.

Step 7: Repeat the above step but this time for the Google apps package your copied.

Step 8: After both the installation is finish go back and reboot your Moto E device.



And that’s it. Your Moto E device is now successfully updated to the Android 4.4.4 CM11 firmware. You can check it in Settings->About Phone where your Android firmware will be shown. So that is all.
